Standing here, on the beach, looking across a grey rippling sea that loses itself over the horizon into a flat grey sky. A speeding wind rushes towards me, dragging waves into life, bringing emptiness.
My mind wanders, dragging its cold feet through my thoughts, the sea drowns my toes, and I sink into the wet sand - a million years life and death.
The wind whispers and scratches my ears but says nothing, a thousand tired and ragged ghosts sigh words I cannot hear.
The horizon fills my eyes, a darker grey now, bursting with rain. I stretch out my arms and it splashes over me, wet arrows pierce my skin.
I watch as sea and rain merge, crashing over my bow as I rise and fall over waves of solitude, engulfing me, drowning my thoughts, my ghosts and my tears.
